Real Estate Photography FAQs

Q: How much does real estate photography cost in San Francisco?

+

Real estate photography starts at $300 and is priced by home size:

  • Under 2,000 sq ft: $300 to $350

  • 2,000 to 3,999 sq ft: $400 to $450

  • 4,000 to 5,999 sq ft: $500 to $600

  • Over 6,000 sq ft: $300 per hour

Rates are the same for residential and commercial properties. Bundle any three services and save $150.

Q: How fast will I get my listing photos?

+

All photos are fully edited and delivered within 24 hours of your shoot, so you can usually have your listing live on the MLS the day after I visit.

Q: What areas do you serve?

+

I photograph properties throughout San Francisco and the greater Bay Area, covering these counties

  • Alameda

  • Contra Costa

  • Marin

  • Napa

  • San Francisco

  • San Mateo

  • Santa Clara

  • Solano

  • Sonoma

Travel is free for the first 10 miles from San Francisco. Additional mileage is $1.00 per mile.

Q: How many photos are included in a shoot?

+

I typically capture about 30 photos per 1,000 sq ft. If you need more coverage, you can add a set of 5 extra photos for $50.

Q: Do you photograph commercial properties?

+

Yes. I photograph residential and commercial properties at the same rates. Past commercial work includes the InterContinental Mark Hopkins and Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco, Domaine Chandon in Napa County, office buildings, and projects for builders, designers, and craftsmen.

Q: Can I book a shoot for just a few photos?

+

Yes. A pick-up shoot of up to 10 photos costs $175 and works well after new staging, landscaping, or paint. A pre-marketing shoot of up to 10 photos costs $200 and is ideal for "coming soon" marketing before the home is fully ready.

Q: Is a floor plan included with my photo shoot?

+

Yes. If you choose to include a floor plan module, I will subtract $250.00 from your final bill.

Q: Do you offer photo editing such as decluttering?

+

Yes. Enhanced photo editing, including digital decluttering, is available for $25 per image. Every photo also receives standard professional editing as part of the shoot.

Q: How should I prepare a home for real estate photography?

+

Clear kitchen and bathroom counters, remove personal items such as family photos and mail, and hide pet bowls, trash bins, and cords. Turn on all lights, replace any burned-out bulbs, open blinds, and move cars away from the front of the home. I also do a walk-through when I arrive at the property.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

+

You receive a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment. A $150 fee applies to cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance. If a shoot is canceled due to inclement weather and rescheduled for a different day, no refund is issued.

Q: Who will photograph my listing?

+

I will. I'm Alex Chuzhoy, and I photograph every listing myself. I spent more than a decade as a commercial photographer before working in residential and commercial real estate sales, so I know which features help a listing sell.
